meet dr. amadasun
My name is Dr. Harrison Amadasun, and I reside at 1475 Ellington Road, South Windsor. I attended Liberty University in Virginia where I earned my doctorate degree in Strategic Leadership. I am a consultant and own a small real estate company. I also work at Travelers Insurance Company. My lovely wife, Dr. Cathy, is a school administrator, and we have been married for almost 40 years. We have four adult children: Harry Jr., Owen, Natasha, and Dexter. Harry Jr. is a 3rd term Town Councilman in East Hartford, Owen is a Medical Doctor, Natasha is a Biomedical Engineer, and the youngest is Dexter, who has a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. My family has loved and coached youth soccer teams for many years.
Before residing in South Windsor, I lived in East Hartford for over 35 years, where I served as a vice chair for the Zoning Board of Appeals and a two-term elected Selectman. Here in South Windsor, I am a member of the Town Committee and Economic Development Commission.
In November 2025, I was the 6th highest vote getter for the South Windsor Town Council, unfortunately the bureaucrats, without a public hearing or the town council’s approval, illegally decided to replace me with the 10th highest vote getter, who had almost 1000 less votes, thereby disenfranchising almost 4,000 South Windsor voters. The CT Supreme Court ruled in my favor and referred the case back to the lower court. Final ruling from the lower court is still pending.
I strongly believe in collaborative leadership that puts the people first. I will focus on Affordability, Schools, Housing, Safety, and Mental Health challenges.
Important attributes and behaviors entail: Trustworthiness, Transparency, Emotional Intelligence, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams/parties. I intend to exemplify these same qualities as a State Legislator.
